Program: GCRPC Commuter Transit SMS Alerts
Effective Date: [February 6, 2026]
Last Updated: [March 6, 2026]
Section 01

Program Description

The Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission ("GCRPC," "we," "us," or "our") operates an SMS-based commuter transit notification program (the "Program") to keep enrolled riders informed of real-time service conditions, schedule changes, and transit-related updates across the regional commuter network.

This Program is provided as a public service to support safe, efficient commuting in the Golden Crescent region. All messages are strictly transit-related — GCRPC does not use this channel for marketing, promotions, or non-transit communications.

No marketing. No spam. Every message sent through this Program relates directly to commuter transit operations and rider safety. We will never use this channel to advertise products or services.

Section 03

Types of Transit Alerts

GCRPC may send the following categories of commuter transit notifications:

Service Disruptions

Delays, detours, cancellations, and unexpected interruptions to scheduled service.

Schedule Changes

Planned route modifications, holiday schedules, temporary stop closures, and timetable updates.

Service Resumption

Notifications when previously disrupted routes have returned to normal operations.

Safety & Emergency

Road closures, weather-related service suspensions, and emergency transit advisories.

Alerts may pertain to specific routes, stops, or corridors you have subscribed to, or may be system-wide notices affecting all commuters in the GCRPC service area.

Section 04

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on real-time transit conditions. During periods of normal operations you may receive few or no messages. During service disruptions, severe weather events, or significant schedule changes, you may receive multiple messages in a short period of time.

GCRPC will only send messages when there is meaningful transit information to communicate. We do not send messages for routine, on-time service.

Time-sensitive alerts: Because transit alerts are often urgent and safety-related, messages may be delivered at any hour, including early morning and late evening, in order to inform riders before and during their commute.

Section 05
